CARRIAGEWORKS
PRESENTED BY FINELY TUNED
Terms & Conditions
By acquiring a ticket for an event in THE WORKS program and/or seeking to attend an event, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, together with any event‑specific terms notified at the time of sale. If you purchase a ticket on behalf of someone else, you undertake to inform them of these Terms and Conditions and any other terms notified at the time of sale.
1) Conditions of Sale
1.1 Finality of Sale & Refunds
All ticket sales are final at the time of purchase and are non‑refundable except as required under the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Ticketing Code of Practice or Australian Consumer Law.
Carriageworks reserves the right to deny any request for a refund outside of the above requirements.
1.2 Exchanges
No ticket exchanges are permitted for any events in THE WORKS. This includes changes to dates, times, seat types, ticket bundles and cross‑event exchanges.
This does not affect your rights under the LPA Ticketing Code of Practice or Australian Consumer Law.
1.3 Booking Fees
Tickets purchased online or by phone via Carriageworks attract a non‑refundable $5 booking fee per order. Booking fees do not apply to in‑person bookings.
1.4 Capacity Changes & Price Variations
If audience capacity is reduced and your ticket is no longer available, Carriageworks may refund tickets based on time of booking.
Carriageworks and any presenters selling via Carriageworks’ platform may increase or decrease ticket prices prior to the event in response to demand. Such changes do not entitle ticketholders to a refund or compensation for differences between original and revised prices.
1.5 Ticket Limits
The maximum ticket limit is 6 tickets per person per event or season (not per performance), unless otherwise stated.
We may cancel and refund, without notice, any order(s) that breach or appear to breach the limit, including multiple orders using the same name, email address, payment card or postal address.
1.6 Liability for Ancillary Costs
Carriageworks is not liable for ancillary expenses (e.g. travel, accommodation) incurred in relation to attending an event, including where an event is cancelled or rescheduled, unless required by law. Please check refund policies with your service providers before making arrangements.
1.7 Contact for Ticketing Queries
Any ticketing queries or refund requests (where eligible under law) must be made in writing by the ticketholder (the person whose email is attached to the order) to boxoffice@carriageworks.com.au.
2) Resale Restrictions
Authorised seller: Carriageworks is the only authorised ticket seller for events at Carriageworks unless otherwise stated on our website for a specific event.
Authorised resale: If you wish to resell your ticket, use our authorised third‑party partner Tixel.
Risks of unauthorised resellers: Tickets purchased via unauthorised sources (e.g. Ticketmaster Resale, Viagogo, Ticketbis, eBay, Gumtree, Tickets Australia, etc.) may be fake, void or previously cancelled.
Price cap: Carriageworks tickets must not be resold for more than 110% of the original supply cost. Tickets resold above this amount are subject to cancellation. Evidence of resale price may be requested to enforce this restriction.
Promotional use: Tickets must not be packaged or used in advertising or promotions unless authorised in writing by Carriageworks.
3) Concessions & Companion Cards
Concessions: Where available, concession pricing requires valid ID for ticket collection and venue entry. Accepted IDs include full‑time student card, Centrelink Pensioner card, Veteran’s Affairs card, MEAA membership, and Australian Government‑issued Seniors Card. Senior Savers Cards are not accepted. Failure to present valid proof may result in non‑admittance or an upgrade to a standard ticket (additional cost applies).
Companion Card: Holders of a valid Companion Card are entitled to a complimentary companion ticket when supporting a ticketholder with disability or frailty. To reserve, call +61 2 8571 9001 (Wed–Sun, 10am–5pm). You may be asked to present your Companion Card at the event. Please note other presenting companies may not always permit Companion Cards.
4) Children at Performances
For ticketed events inside a theatre, Babes in Arms (under 2) are admitted free without an allocated seat, provided they remain in the arms of their parent/guardian throughout the performance.
Unless otherwise specified, no supervision of children is provided. All attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult and may be refused admission if not accompanied.
Unless a show is specified as a children’s performance, most performances are unsuitable for young children. Age restrictions will be indicated in event information. For more information contact boxoffice@carriageworks.com.au.
5) Photography & Filming at Events
Events and audiences may be photographed, filmed and/or recorded for archival, promotional, media and safety purposes.
By entering the venue, you consent to the use of your image, likeness and/or voice in any recordings made of the event, without compensation or further notice, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
If you prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please speak to a Carriageworks staff member on arrival; reasonable steps will be taken to accommodate your request where operationally feasible (e.g. seating adjustments or avoiding camera sightlines).
Personal photography is permitted unless otherwise specified for a particular event. Flash, tripods, stabilisers and professional equipment are not permitted without prior written approval. Audio/visual recording of performances may be restricted or prohibited and must comply with any instructions from staff.
6) Cloakroom & Lost Property
You are responsible for your personal possessions (e.g. bags, phones and other items).
Cloakroom facilities are not always available; please avoid bringing large items.
Where provided, the cloakroom is free of charge on a performance‑requirement basis as deemed by Carriageworks. It is your responsibility to collect cloaked items after the performance.
While all care is taken, Carriageworks accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to items deposited. We may refuse to accept items for deposit. Uncollected items will be logged as lost property post‑event.
Lost property is held at the Box Office in the Public Space. Items not collected within 2 weeks of being logged may be disposed of.
7) Donations
Donations of $2 or more are fully tax‑deductible. Acknowledgement and a tax receipt will be emailed; please allow up to 10 working days for processing.
Carriageworks can accept donations in lieu of a refund for the ticket value only (booking fee excluded) where permitted by law. Carriageworks may ask ticketholders whether they are willing to forgo an eligible refund and donate the price paid for the ticket.
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. Please review the event page and any pre‑event communications for the latest information.
